How do I get rid of the blue drop down which keeps on appearing whenever the phone goes into immersive mode?

This drop down keeps on appearing in apps like AcDisplay or QuickPic telling me to "swipe down from the top to exit the fullscreen mode." Swiping down or pressing "ok" makes it go away for once only to reappear the next time an app enters fullscreen. This doesn't seem to be a device specific problem since it happens on my Sony z3c as well as my Huawei ascend p6. I've looked into the settings of the apps with no success. Also tried to google it but failed since I wasn't sure how to properly search for it. Is there any way to stop this dropdown from reappearing preferably without root? Any help is welcome! Thanks in advanced!
