Power saving brightness

Hi

on my new Galaxy tab s, I discovered yesterday that when the battery goes below a certain point - I think it was about 14% - the brightness is greatly reduced, so much so it's difficult to see the screen in daylight, and the slider to change the brightness back up had diserpeare. Please,can someone tell me how I change this setting? It really annoys me and idk where to turn it off.

Also, if I try to activate power saving mode myself it says I need to enable at least one function, what are these functions how do I enable them?

Finally, how do I select and copy or cut a word(s)?
